Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Chef in Residence Program

The museum’s new culinary showcase offers Philadelphians the opportunity to check out different cuisines from renowned chefs. This weekend, the program will feature Chef Nana Wilmot of Georgina’s Foods who grew up in Cherry Hill and as a first-generation Ghanaian American, which is definitely showcased in her cuisine.

On Friday, July 30 and Sunday, Aug. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Philadelphians can experience James Beard Award winner Wilmot’s signature dishes in its newly renovated Café. Menu items include a Grilled Ghanian Salmon Salad Wrap, Jollof Rice Bowl, Grilled Suya Beef Skewers and Yucca Fries.

Kismet Bagel Pop-Up

The local couple turned carb-filled entrepreneurs are back with a new pop-up opportunity, and this one is in Fishtown and will be happening weekly. Fishtown Social has teamed up with Kismet to offer a new sandwich shop which will run Sundays from 9 a.m. to noon at Fishtown Social located on Frankford Ave. The new shop recently debuted and has plans to run indefinitely.

According to the release, Jacob and Alexandra Cohen of Kismet Bagels, along with Fishtown Social owner Vanessa Wong, will offer three different options on their “Sunday Sammies” menu, including one with whitefish salad, cherry tomatoes, microgreens, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper on a black and white sesame bagel ($13 whole; $7 half); one with cucumbers, tomatoes, capers, dill, microgreens, extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and veggie (or a vegan option from Philly-based brand Conscious Cultures) and schmear on an everything bagel ($12 whole; $7 half); and one with spicy everything cream cheese, pickled jalapeno, and parmesan everything crisps on a jalapeno everything bagel ($6 whole; $3.50 half).

But there’s more. On top of the sandwich offerings standalone bagels, bialys and schmear will be available for $2-$3, while pastries will be available most Sundays from pastry chef Erica Pais, who is baking bourbon chocolate chip blondies for the first installment. And finally, there will be a rotating menu of sandwiches featuring local and seasonal produce by way of Riverwards Produce in Fishtown each month.
