The release of the proposed facilities master plan at today’s School Reform Commission will be broadcast online from the district’s website.
The SRC meeting begins at 3 p.m., but the much-anticipated facilities plan will be unveiled around 5 p.m. It will be streamed live for the first time from http://www.phila.k12.pa.us/. The plan is expected to detail planned closings, consolidations, replacements and grade changes.
The district says the plan is just a proposal and there will be several opportunities for community input in the same vein as the School Advisory Councils for renaissance schools. The SRC is expected to vote on a final proposal in early 2012.
I will be posting live tweets from today’s meeting. You can follow me @elraei.
