A second man is facing murder charges after last month’s mass shooting in Grays Ferry that left three people dead and nine others wounded.
SWAT officers and homicide detectives took 21-year-old Daquan Brown into custody Tuesday, police said, after searching a house on the 1500 block of Morston Street, about a block away from where the gunfire erupted.
Brown – like the first suspect arrested in the shooting, Terrell Frazier – has been charged with three counts of murder, nine counts of attempted murder, nine counts of aggravated assault and other offenses, according to court documents.

Frazier was apprehended Aug. 6, and, two days later, authorities identified 24-year-old Christopher Battle as being wanted in connection with the shooting. Battle remains at-large; a PPD spokesperson said Wednesday that he has not been arrested.
Investigators believe more than 140 bullets were fired from 13 different guns during a party that was being held in the early morning hours of Monday, July 7, on the 1500 block of S. Etting Street.
Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore described the incident last week as a case of “contagious gunfire,” with no argument or altercation sparking the violence.
The bullets killed 23-year-old Zahir Wylie, 19-year-old Jason Reese and 24-year-old Azir Harris, according to authorities. Nine other people between the ages of 15 and 24 were struck and required treatment.
