Jury selection in the case of 34-year-old Rasheed Scrugs began yesterday afternoon. Scrugs, who is accused of killing Philadelphia police officer John Pawlowski in February of last year, could face the death penalty if found guilty. Judge Renee Cardwell Hughes, the presiding judge, said she expects to begin selecting jurors Friday and expects the trial to last all month.
