Sen. Pat Toomey will be in Philadelphia Monday for a town hall event — but you won’t be able to attend in person.
At 2:10 p.m., the highly criticized senator will broadcast the event on Facebook Live fromthe CBS3studios. Any questions and comments to the senator can be posted in the comments on Facebook, the station said. Eyewitness News anchor Jessica Dean will ask the submitted questions. Dean also posted a call for viewers to submit questions ahead of the event. He earned flak for not announcing the conference until less than two hours before its start. Some constituents blastedthe second-term senator for seemingly ignoring their calls, letters and other communications, and for approving President Donald Trump’s controversial cabinet picks, including Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. There have also been other protests in recent weeks demanding him to hold a town hall.
Some Republican lawmakers have faced confrontationaltown hall meetings in their home districts from angry constituents since Trump took office.
