Serial rapist William Walker faces up to 114 years in prison

William Walker’s sentencing is set for today.

Serial rapist William Walker, who had pleaded guilty to four counts of rape in 2012, is slated to be sentenced on Monday, according to the district attorney’s office, and could face up to 114 years in prison.

Walker was caught by police in the summer of 2012 while he was assaulting a female victim. His criminal streak began on July 14, 2012, when Walker met with his first victim, a mentally disabled woman residing in an assisted living facility, police said. He held the woman down with a pillow over her face and beat, choked and raped her. He was later identified as the perpetrator through DNA.

His second victim was just two blocks away from the first, also residing at an assisted living facility for mentally disabled people. He pulled this woman into a wooded area, beat her and raped her. DNA evidence again helped connect him to the crime.

The next day, Walker found a mentally disabled woman smoking a cigarette on the street. He dragged her into a wooded area, beat her and raped her too, police said. The woman returned to the facility where she was living with blood on her face and without pants.

Walker’s spree ended one week later, when a good Samaritan saw him dragging another woman down the street and called 911. Police found the suspect leaning over the woman as he pulled up his pants.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of rape, one count of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and one count of terroristic threats. He has been declared a sexually violent predator under the state’s Megan’s Law.

Walker faces a total possible sentence of 57 to 114 years in prison, the district attorney said.
