You’ve heard of the Seven Deadly Sins—but never quite like this.

At River Twice, the capital vices will be explored through culinary creativity in the form of a seven-course dinner. And there are going to be two nights of opportunity to indulge in 2024. On Monday, Oct. 28 and Tuesday, Oct. 29, the East Passyunk locale will be offering colorful bites and sips themed to the occasion, and reservations are currently available for both events. Now in its fourth year (the first iteration happened in 2020), diners can expect a feast worth sinning over from Chef/Owner Randy Rucker and Owner/Operator Amanda Rucker.

“We had such a blast the first time we did a Seven Deadly Sins dinner,” said Rucker in a previous statement. “It’s one of our favorite times of year, everyone in the restaurant dressed up, some customers got into the Halloween spirit, and we loved putting together a menu that focuses on the seven deadly sins.”

As Rucker said, costumes are encouraged for those who dine. There’s an incentive to dress up, too—a contest will be held during the two-night series, with the winner of the best costume receiving a rare Mother Rucker Burger punch card which guarantees the lucky diner a burger on reserve for up to four or five visits (that comes out to be a $115 value).

Each dish during the dinner is focused on one of seven categories: Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Pride, Gluttony, Lust, and Envy. As a release states, previous iterations of “Envy” including Roxanne Chef Alexandra Holt’s raw cheesesteak in 2023, as well as Chef Michael Solomonov’s famous Zahav lamb shoulder in 2022.

Dinner costs $125 per person for table seating, and $150 per person for the Chef’s Counter. Due to the nature of the event, full submission is required. There will also be an optional beverage pairing offered. More information on River Twice (1601 E Passyunk Ave.), and the Seven Deadly Sins dinner can be found online at rivertwicerestaurant.com
