Seven shot Tuesday night in North Philly

A man was killed and six other people were injured in a shooting Tuesday night outside a public housing development in North Philadelphia.

Gunfire rang out just before midnight on the 600 block of Franklin Place, within the Spring Garden Apartments, authorities said.

Four victims showed up to Temple University Hospital, including a 24-year-old who was shot ten times and is currently listed in critical condition. A 22-year-old who was shot in the neck is also still in the hospital fighting for his life.

A 24-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his groin area, and a 27-year-old man was shot once in the left calf, authorities said. Both are in stable condition.

In addition, a 57-year-old man was hit in the left thigh, and a 22-year-old woman was treated for a graze wound to her right foot, according to police.

Just after 2 a.m., officers located another victim, a man in his 20s, unresponsive around the corner on the 600 block of N. 8th Street. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, police said.

Investigators are also searching for three gunmen who shot a man at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday on the 2800 block of N. 25th Street in North Philadelphia.

The 22-year-old male victim was shot in the back and the bullet exited his body through his chest, authorities said. He was transported to Temple Hospital and immediately taken into surgery.

Police described the suspects as three black men. One was tall and heavyset and was wearing a gray sweatsuit, black and white baseball cap, white mask, and he had a silver handgun.

The second suspect is described as short and thin. He was wearing an olive-colored hooded sweatshirt, a mask and had a small black handgun, authorities said.

The third man, who is tall and thin, was carrying a large tan-and-black colored rifle, police said. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and did not have a mask, according to investigators.

Police arrested a 59-year-old man Tuesday night after a stabbing in Mayfair left another man in critical condition.

Officers responded just before 9:30 p.m. to the 3300 block of Glenview Street, and a 55-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest answered the door of the home.

Authorities have yet to release the suspect’s name.

In addition, a 46-year-old man was shot in the left leg and foot at around 11 p.m. near the corner of 7th and Clearfield streets in Fairhill, police said. He is in stable condition, and no arrests have been made.

Prosecutors say a woman has been arrested after she allegedly ran over a police officer while fleeing the scene of rioting Saturday, May 30.

Angela Hall, 41, of Southwest Philadelphia, was charged Tuesday with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, burglary and other crimes, authorities said.

Hall, the District Attorney’s Office said, was involved in the looting of a beauty supply store near 7th and Chestnut streets. Prosecutors said she waited in a getaway car while others stole items from the business.

The DA’s Office said Hall intentionally hit Police Officer Tony Nieves, who suffered serious injuries.

“This individual’s criminal actions are egregious and resulted in serious, possibly permanent injuries to a police officer who was responding to a situation that was already dangerous,” DA Larry Krasner said in a statement.

Hall is accused of using a rental car during the incident, which she allegedly reported missing May 31 after abandoning it on the 6300 block of Eastwick Street.

Court records indicate a judge set Hall’s bail for the attempted murder case at 10 percent of $500,000.
