A man was killed Sunday morning in North Philadelphia, and shootings left at least eight other people injured over the weekend across the city.
Police said the homicide occurred just after 7 a.m., when an adult man was shot on the 1100 block of W. Venango Street. He was declared dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The PPD has not identified the victim or provided his age. No arrests were reported in the immediate aftermath of the killing.
Three men were hospitalized after shots were fired at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on the 5100 block of Haverford Avenue, investigators said.
Two of the three victims were being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries; the PPD did not provide the status of the third man. Police did not comment on a potential motive, though 6abc reported that the gunfire stemmed from a bar fight.

A Point Breeze resident called 911 at around 11:15 p.m. Saturday and reported that their house has been hit by bullets, authorities said.
At around the same time, officers responding to a report found a 16-year-old boy with a graze wound to his cheek on South Croskey Street, according to the PPD.
Investigators believe the teenager was struck when multiple people opened fire on each another near the corner of 23rd Street and Point Breeze Avenue.
In Nicetown, someone shot a man at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the 4100 block of Germantown Avenue, authorities said. He was later listed in stable condition, according to the PPD.
Earlier, just after 1 p.m., a man was shot on the 300 block of S. 56th Street in West Philadelphia, police said. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A man and a woman were taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle after a shooting at around 11:45 a.m. Saturday inside a house on the 1900 block of Airdrie Street in the Tioga section of North Philadelphia, investigators said.
Both gunshot victims are expected to survive. No further details have been released.

Philadelphia has experienced 63 homicides in 2025, down nearly 30% compared to the same point last year, and the number of people shot (286) has dropped 14%, according to police data.
