Two men were killed and two others were injured in separate shootings over the weekend, according to police.

Authorities said a 40-year-old man died after he was shot in his face during an attempted robbery just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday inside a house on Farson Street, near Market Street, in West Philadelphia.

On Saturday, at around 6:15 p.m., someone shot a 47-year-old man in his chest on the 1500 block of S. Napa Street in Grays Ferry, investigators said. He died a short time later at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Police did not report any arrest in connection with the killings, and they have not publicly identified the victims. Anyone with information can call PPD’s Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334/3335; call or text 215-686-8477; or go to phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip.

Earlier, at around 5 p.m. Saturday, shots were fired on the 6000 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway in West Philadelphia, leaving a 26-year-old man with wounds to his hand and forearm, according to authorities. He was hospitalized and is expected to survive.

Investigators said a 28-year-old man shot another man at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday after he tracked his stolen car to Godfrey and Rising Sun avenues in the Crescentville section of Northeast Philadelphia.

The vehicle owner shot a 19-year-old man in his right hip area, and he was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition, authorities said. It was not clear Sunday when the car was stolen or whether the younger man was the thief. The shooter was taken into custody at the scene, pending further investigation.
