Conductor David Charles Abell returns for a third year to lead The Philly Pops’ Christmas program. Honoring military and first responders, the selection features guest vocalist Lisa Vroman, known for playing Christine in Broadway’s “Phantom of the Opera,” as well as a choir and holiday sing-a-longs.

The befuddling addition of Dan Deacon as an opener for Miley Cyrus’s tour with Her Dead Petz — better known as rock band The Flaming Lips — strangely helps make some sense of her long, public transformation. Known for his electronic dance music, Deacon gives Miley some cred and amplifies her party-starting persona. This show is officially sold out, so you’ll have to go the resale route.
