Simon Gagne, one of the all-time fan favorites, is back with the Flyers after the team sent a conditional fourth-round draft pick to Los Angeles to acquire the 13-year veteran.
Gagne has five points (five assists, no goals) in 11 games played this season for the Kings, a team he helped lead to a Stanley Cup championship last season. He spent his first 10 seasons in Orange and Black, including a 47-goal output in 2005-06.
There’s no telling exactly how much Gagne has left in the tank, but his familiarity with the Flyers and veteran leadership can’t hurt a team teetering. The Flyers have tried — and failed — to reach the .500 mark six times this season.
