Love basketball? Think you have what it takes to play at the next level? Well, now’s your chance as the Delaware Blue Coats, NBA G League Affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, are set to once again hold open tryouts this fall.
Ahead of the 2024-25 season, the Blue Coats will host three events that will give Joes the chance to become pros. The events are set for Sept. 7 at the Chase Field House, Sept. 21 at the Alan Horwitz ‘Sixth Man’ Center, and Sept. 28 at Delaware State University, from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
Online registration is open now for those interested in signing up. Walk-up registration will be limited, so participants are encouraged to register in advance. All participants receive a Blue Coats practice jersey in addition to a family ticket package for a future game.
Grading and evaluating those trying out will be Blue Coat and Sixers coaches and staff.
In order to qualify for the events, participants must meet all of the NBA’s eligibility standards and additionally, they must complete an NBA G League medical consent and authorization form and a release and eligibility form.
The Delaware Blue Coats’ home opening is set for Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Chase Fieldhouse as they look to make a playoff run for the fifth consecutive season.
