Sixers looking to go streaking against the Toronto Raptors

The Sixers (16-12) will be taking on the Toronto Raptors (13-17) in South Philly at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday evening. The 76ers are looking to extend their win streak to five games while on their seven-game home stand. The Toronto Raptors are coming off a loss at home to the Brooklyn Nets and looking to bounce back after losing at the buzzer.

Game Info for Sixers vs Raptors

When: Monday, December 19th, 2022

Tipoff: 7:00PM EST

Where: Philadelphia, PA | Wells Fargo Center

How to watch: NBC Sports Philadelphia

Can the 76ers win their fifth straight game? Will the Raptors be able to bounce back from their five-game losing streak? Check out three storylines for tonight’s game:

Will the Sixers match the Raptors Energy?

The Raptors seem to play their hardest when they match up against Joel Embiid and the 76ers. They seem to always out-rebound and out-hustle the Sixers in their matchups. Will the Sixers be able to match their energy early in the game to help build a lead on a team that has no one to guard Joel Embiid? The Raptors may be without OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr, and Precious Achiuwa, who are all out for varying injuries. The Sixers under Doc Rivers have a history of struggling against teams that are undermanned. The Sixers need to look to take care of business early against the Raps.

The Big Fella’s Dominance

Joel Embiid is currently leading the NBA in scoring, averaging 33.3 points a game. He has scored 30 points or more in seven of the last eight games, including his second 50-point game of the season. The Raptors usually play small and try to use their athleticism and double teams to slow down Embiid. Look for the Sixers to establish Embiid early and often to set the tone.

Pascal Siakam Returns to South Philly

Pascal Siakam will be returning to Philadelphia for the first time since the 2022 NBA postseason and for the first time since his elbow broke Joel Embiid’s face. It should be expected for Siakam to get the loudest boos during the visiting introductions. He always seems to play well against the Sixers, so look for the Sixers to match PJ Tucker or Tobias Harris (if healthy) on him.
