Andrew Bynum is anticipating a return to the basketball court.
No, seriously. While there still isn’t a concrete timeline, the Sixers big man updated the media on his status. Bynum insists he is “moving in a positive direction.” Bynum, of course, is dealing with injuries in both his knees, a bruise in his right one and swollen cartilage in his left, which was caused while Bynum was bowling.
“I’m feeling better every day. I’m back to the weights and on the treadmill, and I should be running here soon,” Bynum told reporters.
Bynum confirmed that he hasn’t suffered any setbacks since the last time he spoke, right before Christmas, and he isn’t scheduled to see any more doctors. Still, everyone in the organization is remaining cautiously optimistic.
“Until we see him out on the floor and no setbacks and all of that stuff, we wait,” coach Doug Collins said. “I think he’s starting to sense that maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
