Sixers shake rust, rout Pistons in first game back

Bring on Kevin Durant.

The Sixers used the All-Star break to get rested and snapped their five-game losing streak last night with a 97-68 in Detroit. Thaddeus Young led the way with a team-high 20 points in 27 minutes, with Andre Iguodala adding 12 and Jrue Holiday 10.

The Sixers (21-14) host Oklahoma City tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in what should be an electric atmosphere. The Thunder (27-7) own the best record in the Western Conference — tied for tops in the NBA with Miami — and feature Durant, the All-Star MVP, who is averaging 27.9 points per game.

Against the Pistons, the Sixers shot 50-percent (42-for-84) from the field while holding Detroit to 31.6-percent (25-for-79). The defensive-minded Sixers also forced 22 turnovers for the entire game.
