Sixers surpass franchise record, what’s next?

The Sixers are a laughing stock. They have gone through 19 players during their franchise-long 21-game losing streak and have all but locked up the most ping pong balls in the NBA draft lottery.

So isn’t it time they regain a little respect by winning a game?

The team is five losses away from tying the all-time NBA record for consecutive losses, set by the Cleveland Cavaliers just a few seasons ago.

“We try to come with a positive attitude and give people opportunities every day,” an optimistic Brett Brown told the media after a loss in Indiana Monday. “There is no ‘woe is me’ going on around our program. I hope that they play off of my staff and feel me out, because that’s the message I’m trying to day-to-day send.”

They face the playoff-bound Bulls Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center, and then the Knicks at home Friday.

If Philadelphia can’t win one of their next two games, they might not win again until next October.

After two games at home this week, the Sixers will try and earn their elusive first win since January in Chicago, San Antonio and Houston next week.
