The Sixers head into Charlotte looking to extend their win streak to seven games, further cementing their spot among the Eastern Conference elite. Philly has taken down some of the bet the NBA has to offer in recent weeks and confidence is red-hot. Will that be the same story this evening?

Joel Embiid’s MVP campaign is alive and well. With at least 30+ points in his last seven games, Embiid has decimated anyone that stands in his path and has overtaken Nikola Jokic in the MVP Race. It’s clear that the Big-man has taken the disrespect personally as he tears through the league with a mission of finally claiming the accolade that has evaded him up to this point.
As for the rest of the team, James Harden has been brilliant and we’re seeing Tyrese Maxey make the most of his starting opportunity, contributing in big ways when called upon. He went 5-7 from deep against the Cavs, putting up 23 points in the process.
Charlotte is a young team but will be without talisman PG, LaMelo Ball. Instead, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, and P.J Washington will be the main threats for Philadelphia to handle. The team ranks 26th in scoring and is giving up the 7th most points of any team in the NBA.
This is an opportunity for the Sixers to jump out to an early lead and dictate the tempo before a clash with the Pacers next week. As we all know, that can sometimes prove too much for the Sixers to handle, with the team often struggling off the bench.
If Philly can use this as a window to rest some key names after a quarter or two and allow players like Maxey to handle business, then it’s a perfect scenario.
