Skeleton found in backyard of sleepy South Jersey town

Police are currently examining human remains that were discovered in the backyard of a house in Riverton, New Jersey.

Workers digging to install a swimming pool behind a Bank Avenue home made the grim discovery, the Burlington County Times reported, and contacted authorities.

Forensic analysts have not yet reported the age or sex of the person to whom the skeleton formerly belonged.

No evidence suggests foul play, reports say.

The investigation is ongoing.

Bank Avenue around the house where the skeleton was discovered was closed off by authorities.
