Best spots to go sledding in Philadelphia

Philadelphians woke up Monday morning to a snow covered city — some neighborhoods getting as much as four inches.

For those who plan to venture out into Philly’s winter wonderland, Metro has rounded up the best spots to go sledding today.

Art Museum

This one is a Philly favorite. The iconic Rocky steps provide a perfect sledding spot — just be sure there’s plenty of snow covering the stone steps.

Juniata Golf Course

Best known for its infamous “Dead Man’s Hill” Juniata Golf Course has long been a local treasure for sledding. But if you’d prefer something less intense, don’t worry. The 85-acre golf course has plenty of hills to choose from, and lots of space to spread out.

Fairmount Park

Fairmount Park has two ideal sledding spots — check out Belmont Plateau is you’d like a more gentle sledding experience, with a skyline view; and Lemon Hill if you you’re looking for something more adventurous.

Located in West Philly, Clark Park is a perfect spot to take the kids sledding. The hills are not too steep, offering a sledding adventure ideal for families.

43rd Street and Baltimore Avenue

Burholme Park

Located in Northeast Philly, Burholme Park is covered in rolling hills perfect for sledding. There’s a variety of spots to choose from, ranging from steep hills for fast rides, as well as more a more mild descent for kids and beginners.
