Spend your summer solstice on South Street

This weekend, South Street is celebrating the longest day of the year and some other activations down on 4th street.

Firstly, the Sounds for Peace Summer Music Celebration presented by Milkboy (401 South St.) will be in full swing from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, and while there, locals can post up with a beach chair or check out the Crash Bang Boom Sidewalk Sale, an artist table at Art Mart, and Everland’s Honey Event with the backdrop of live music from Milkboy’s stages.

Fitz on 4th will also host its Summer Solstice Block Party for the community from noon to 8 p.m. The event is meant to also highlight other local businesses and bring community engagement through vegan food, family fun (like bounce houses), music, and more.

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Puppies & Pineapples celebration will be taking place from Bainbridge to South as well, and what locals can find there spans drinks served in pineapples at Queen Village Market; psychic, tarot card reading and a sidewalk sale at Urban Princess; puppies from Paws; live sketching with Crown of Creation; plus artists and vintage sales at B-bop Vintage.

Philadelphians can also explore the area from Monroe to Bainbridge street to check out an al fresco vintage home decor sale at JuJu; vintage clothing sidewalk selections from Wayward Designs; music from Crate Diggaz; and outdoor seating at Bottle Love.

“So bring your family and beach chairs and celebrate the longest day of the year with your friends on fabulous 4th Street for shopping, music, and outdoor dining, all promoting peace near and far on World Peace and Prayer Day,” South Street District noted in a statement.

Milkboy South Street will have live music on two different stages all day long, but locals can take a stroll down 4th Street to see what the rest of the street has to offer throughout the day June 22.
