Stratus Rooftop Lounge’s Spring Awakening brings ‘Cirque’ to the city

To truly ring in this season in with some style, Stratus Rooftop Lounge will once again throw its fan-favorite event, the Spring Awakening.

Set for later this month on Friday, April 26, the soiree will feature a VIP portion from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., GA will then be live from 8:30 to 2 a.m. This year’s theme is titled “Cirque du Stratus”, and will feature energetic decor and performances from local favorites along with creative cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inspired by traditional carnival and circus mainstays.

Plus attendees can be on the lookout for aerialists, magicians, stilt walkers, caricaturists, contortionists, and so on making their way around the venue.

Spring Awakening marks the return of Stratus Rooftop Lounge’s official kick-off to the spring and summer season. The lavish event previews the newly launched seasonal cocktail menu courtesy of Beverage Manager Patrick Banko, and includes expertly curated fare from the talented culinary team at Stratus Rooftop Lounge and sister restaurant Red Owl Tavern located on the ground floor of the same building, a release notes.

The event takes over the entirety of the rooftop lounge (located on the 11th floor at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Old City) including the venue’s indoor pavilions, Mist and Vapor.

“Spring Awakening is hands down our most anticipated event of the year, and because of the incredibly positive response we’ve received in years past, we’re constantly striving to create an entirely new, fun and exciting atmosphere for returning and new guests to experience,” said Shakira Waldren, General Manager of Stratus Rooftop Lounge in a statement.

“Our goal for Cirque du Stratus is [to] welcome the spring and summer months with full force in an elaborate, highly eccentric fashion. All are [welcome] to celebrate warmer and brighter months ahead at Stratus Rooftop Lounge.”

Cocktail-wise, think cotton candy garnished sippers, liquid nitrogen-infused libations, boozy ice cream and snow cones, and much more. Bites-wise, Philadelphians can indulge in carnival-inspired treats such as wagyu corn dogs, funnel cake, savory churros, and more.

As for entertainment, attendees can also dance to the sounds of DJ Hollywood, and the acclaimed local band, SNACKTIME throughout the evening.
