Dust off those old No. 3 jerseys. Looks like “The Answer” is making a Philly comeback.
Allen Iverson, the face of the Sixers’ franchise for 10-plus seasons, met with team officials for two hours prior to last night’s game in Dallas.
Iverson, along with his agent, Leon Rose, and personal manager, Gary Moore, met with head coach Eddie Jordan, Sixers general manager Ed Stefanski, assistant general manager Tony DiLeo and assistant coach Aaron McKie. Sixers owner Ed Snider has reportedly signed off on Iverson’s return.
“At this time, both parties remain noncommittal regarding a final decision and we will continue to discuss internally whether or not to pursue this course,” Stefanski said in a statement.
Jordan said he believes Iverson would bring an aggressive scoring mentality.
“There’s a lot of things to talk about, and it went well,” Jordan told reporters last night. “He’s Allen Iverson. He can still take over games at this point in his career.”
