Three people were hurt in separate shootings over a period of less than three hours late Saturday night and early Sunday morning in Philadelphia, according to authorities.
Police were called just before 2 a.m. Sunday to the corner of 60th Street and Greenway Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia, where they found a man who had been shot in the thigh, law enforcement officials said.
He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition, and the PPD did not release any further details.
Gunfire erupted inside a bar just after 1 a.m. Sunday on the 1000 block of E. Erie Avenue in Juniata, investigators said. A 34-year-old man who was shot in the left thigh was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to police.
Authorities believe he had a brief conversation with the shooter – a 39-year-old man – when the gunman pulled out a weapon. The victim put his hands up and began to walk away, and the suspect fired five times, police added.
The PPD, in an account of the incident, said the “motive appears to be domestic in nature.” No arrests were reported Sunday.
On Saturday, at around 11:15 p.m., medics took a 56-year-old to Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his right bicep, officials said. He was listed in critical condition.
Investigators said the man told them he was riding a bicycle near C Street and Roosevelt Boulevard in Olney when a man shot him following a short argument. He rode back to his home in Germantown before dialing 911, detectives added. The PPD has not made any arrests.
Anyone with information about any of the shootings is asked to call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
Through the end of February, 63 people had been shot in Philadelphia, down from 136 on the same date last year, according to PPD data.
