The NFL draft is just days away and there are countless rumors about the Philadelphia Eagles either trading back into the top ten or trading down yet again.
Have the Eagles ever "won" one of those draft day trades? Has it been largely benefiting the other team? Let's take a look at the recent history since 2010.
2010
Eagles receive pick 13 - pick became DE Brandon Graham
Broncos receive picks 24, 70, & 87 - 24 ultimately became WR Dez Bryant for the Cowboys, 70 became TE Ed Dickson, and 87 became WR Eric Decker
Decker was a very good WR for the Broncos for four seasons before cashing in with the Jets. Dickson wasn't anything special in Denver and hasn't played since 2018.
Graham is third all time in Eagles history in sacks and continues to be a force, despite a slow start to his career.
Yeah, Eagles won this one.
Eagles receive pick 37 and 2011 conditional pick - 37 became DB Nate Allen and the conditional pick was ultimately traded
Redskins receive QB Donovan McNabb
The conditional pick became a fourth-rounder due to McNabb not being voted to the Pro Bowl and the Redskins not winning at least 9 games.
Allen became a serviceable safety for the Eagles over five years, starting 69 (nice) of the 74 games he played.
After a series of trades, the conditional pick led to the Eagles drafting LB Casey Matthews. Yeah..
Only because McNabb lasted one year in Washington and the Eagles landed a starting safety, the Matthews pick doesn't make this a loss.
Eagles receive 59 & 125 - 59 was traded and 125 became Clay Harbor
Cowboys receive pick 55 - pick became Sean Lee
The Cowboys ended up getting a MLB for 11 seasons (one was lost due to ACL injury). Despite being almost always hurt, Lee gave them two Pro Bowls, a first team All Pro, and four seasons of 100+ tackles.
Clay Harbor spent three years with the Eagles and spent three more in the NFL before becoming the Bachelor.
Dallas won.
Eagles receive picks 86 and 122 - 86 became DE Daniel Te'o-Neshiem (RIP) and 122 became QB Mike Kafka
Green Bay receives pick 71 - became DB Morgan Burnett
Burnett gave the Packers eight years of stellar safety play. GB won this, hands down.
Eagles receive picks 71, 134, & 146 - 71 was traded, 134 became Ricky Sapp, and 146 was traded
Browns receive pick 59 - became RB Montario Hardesty
Wash.
Eagles receive picks 105 & 137 - 105 became DB Trevard Lindley & 137 was ultimately traded
Browns receive CB Sheldon Brown & LB Chris Gocong
Brown went on to have three really good years for the Browns, while Gocong posted back to back 70+ tackle seasons before missing all of 2012 due to injury.
Lindley played his rookie season for the Eagles and was never heard from again.
Browns win.
Eagles receive pick 159 and a 2011 fifth round pick - 159 became WR Riley Cooper and the 2011 pick became RB Dion Lewis
San Diego receives pick 146 - became DT Cam Thomas
While Lewis only spent two seasons with the Eagles, Cooper spent all six years of his career with the Eagles and was nothing spectacular, both as a player and person. Cam Thomas spent four seasons with San Diego as a rotational DT.
Eagles kind of win I guess.
Eagles receive pick 220 - became LB Jamar Chaney
Lions receive 2011 sixth round pick - Lions traded this pick in 2011
Broncos receive pick 137 - DB Perrish Cox
Jamar Chaney ended up playing three years for the Eagles, peaking in 2011 with 92 tackles. The Lions pick ultimately landed in Green Bay and became D.J. Smith, who was out of the league by 2014.
Cox played one year for Denver.
I'd call this a wash.
Also:
Eagles receive 2012 sixth round pick - became G Brandon Washington (was cut prior to 2012 season)
Patriots receive LB Tracy White & 2012 seventh round pick - pick was traded to Vikings with Randy Moss in 2010 season for a third round pick
2011
Eagles receive picks 90 & 191 - 90 became DB Curtis Marsh and 191 became C Jason Kelce
Ravens receive pick 85 - became OL Jah Reid
Jah Reid played in all 16 games his rookie year, 39 total in his four seasons with the Ravens, and started seven.
Curtis Marsh was bad.
But that player.. who was it again? Jason Kelce? I think he was a decent pick.
Eagles run away with this one.
Eagles receive pick 116 and 2012 fourth round pick - 116 became LB Casey Matthews. 99 was ultimately traded
Buccaneers receive pick 104 - became TE Luke Stocker
While nothing special, Stocker is still in the league. He spent seven seasons with Tampa, two with Tennessee (one was shared between TB and TEN), and two with Atlanta.
Casey Matthews.. yeah.
HOWEVER, this is a trade the Eagles actually win. You'll see in the 2012 section.
Eagles receive picks 161 & 194 - 161 became OL Julian Vandervelde. 194 actually became 193 because the Patriots didn't submit their pick in time (SHOCKER), so 193 became LB Brian Rolle
Jets receive picks 153 & 227 -157 became WR Jeremy Kerley & 227 became WR Scotty McKnight
Despite not being all that great, Kerley was still a decent get for the Jets for five seasons. After a career year in SF in 2016, he returned to the Jets and flamed out before ultimately playing in one game for the Bills in 2018.
Jets win this, I guess.
Also:
Eagles receive 2012 second round pick & CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - pick was eventually traded
Cardinals receive QB Kevin Kolb
Kolb went 6-8 in his two seasons as Cardinals QB. DRC spent two seasons with the Eagles and, while he was unspectacular, he had three interceptions and 16 passes defended in his second season.
For resembling a legitimate corner for a team that lacks such players, the Eagles win. More on that trade later.
Eagles receive 2013 conditional pick - became 6th round pick used in trade
Broncos receive DT Brodrick Bunkley
Push, but I'd give this to the Broncos ultimately because of the trade in 2013
2012
Eagles receive pick 172 - later traded
Colts receive T Winston Justice & pick 187 - pick 187 was later traded to Jets and became S Josh Bush
The pick received was a part of quite a big trade
Eagles receive pick 12 - became DT Fletcher Cox
Seahawks receive picks 15, 114, & 172 - 15 became LB Bruce Irvin, 114 became DT Jaye Howard, 172 became DB Jeremy Lane
While the Seahawks received players that contributed to their SB run just a year later, besides Howard, the Eagles received one of the franchise's greatest defensive tackles in history.
Eagles win.
Eagles receive picks 59 & 123 - 59 became DE Vinny Curry & 123 became CB Brandon Boykin
Packers receive pick 51 (the Kolb pick) - became DT Jerel Worthy
Worthy spent two seasons with the Packers, registering 2.5 sacks.
Boykin was one of my favorite players. Six interceptions in 2013. One of the top nickel CBs in the league. Chip Kelly did him wrong. Vinny Curry was one of the most underrated draft picks in Eagles history. A nine sack 2014, 22 sacks in his six seasons prior to leaving for the Bucs. Eight sacks in his two seasons since returning. Big contributor to the SB winning team. A picture (look it up) that belongs in the Louvre.
Eagles win this slam dunk.
Eagles receive pick 229 - became RB Bryce Brown
Falcons receive CB Asante Samuel
What a disrespectful trade. Asante had five interceptions in his first year with Atlanta. Brown lasted two seasons with the Eagles.
Atlanta wins.
2013
Eagles receive pick 98 - became QB Matt Barkley
Jaguars receive picks 101 & 210 - 101 became WR Ace Sanders & 210 became CB Demetrius McCray
Barkley spent two seasons with the Eagles while both Sanders and McCray were nothing special for the Jags.
Push.
Eagles receive WR Arrelious Benn & pick 218 - became S Jordan Poyer
Buccaneers receive pick 196 - later traded
I was SO HYPED for this trade. I loved Benn coming out of college. Despite not testing great at the combine, I thought he'd be the perfect deep threat for the Eagles. Getting him for a 6th? Yeah, loved it.
Then.. he never played for the Eagles. IR'd and cut twice.
Jordan Poyer was never given a fair shot and now is one of the most reliable safeties in the league.
So while the Bucs don't win this, the 2011 Broncos do.

Don’t forget you can get EXCLUSIVE Eagles merch at FOCO here!
2014
Eagles receive picks 26 & 83 - 26 became DE/LB Marcus Smith & 83 was later traded
Browns receive pick 22 - became QB Johnny Manziel
Yeah.. moving on.
Eagles receive pick 42 - became WR Jordan Matthews
Titans receive picks 54 & 122 - 54 became RB Bishop Sankey & 122 became S Marqueston Huff
Matthews was as reliable as they come and three yards away in 2015 from becoming the Eagles' first 1,000 yard receiver since Jeremy Maclin. Between his production and being the reason why Ronald Darby came to the Eagles while he was still good, this trade was a slam dunk win for the Eagles.
Eagles receive picks 101 & 141 - 101 became DB Jaylen Watkins & 141 became DE Taylor Hart
Texans receive pick 83 - became DT Louis Nix III
Hart and Watkins were bad for the Eagles, but Watkins is still chugging along for the Chargers. Nix was also bad.
So ultimately, the Eagles received Marcus Smith, Jaylen Watkins, and Taylor Hart for the Browns to get Johnny Manziel. Yeeeesh.
Eagles receive pick 224 & 2015 conditional pick - 224 became DT Beau Allen & conditional pick became 2015 fourth round pick that was traded
Bills receive RB Bryce Brown & pick 237 - became T Seantrel Henderson
Beau Allen was a pivotal part of the SB winning team. It's rare a team wins a trade in the seventh round, but the Eagles did so here.
Prior to draft:
Eagles receive RB Darren Sproles
Saints receive pick 169 (nice) - became LB Ronald Powell
The Saints definitely won this one... wait.. no. That's not right.
Yeah, Eagles received a Hall of Fame player.
2015
Eagles receive picks 47 & 191 - 47 became DB Eric Rowe & 191 became DB JaCorey Shepard
Dolphins receive picks 52, 145, & 156 - 52 became DT Jordan Phillips, 145 became DB Bobby McCain, & 156 became CB Tony Lippett
Rowe lasted one year with the Eagles and Shepard never played a game for them.
Phillips was a rotational DT, and Lippett was bad, but McCain became and still is a reliable part of that Miami secondary. Oh, and Rowe is in Miami too.
Miami won.
Eagles receive 2016 third round pick - later traded
Lions receive pick 113 - became DT Gabe Wright
The Eagles pick was part of a big one in 2016.
Prior to draft:
Eagles receive QB Sam Bradford, pick 145, & 2016 conditional pick - 145 was traded (see above) & the conditional pick was never awarded
Rams receive QB Nick Foles, pick 119, & 2016 second round pick - 119 became T Andrew Donnal, the second round pick was used to trade up for QB Jared Goff
Gotta say this is a tough one to call. On one hand, the trade set up the Rams for an eventual SB run (and to only score 3 points). On the other hand, do the Eagles make it to the SB without being bad with Bradford? While his one year with the Eagles was average, it did set them up for the big 2016 trade that ultimately led to the SB.
Push..? Maybe? You call it.
Prior to 2015 season:
Eagles receive 2016 fifth round pick - became T Halapoulivaati Vaitai
Steelers receive CB Brandon Boykin
Although Chip did Boykin dirty, it led to the Eagles selecting the Super Bowl left tackle.
Eagles receive 2016 conditional seventh round pick - became LB Joe Walker
Cardinals receive QB Matt Barkley
Walker actually had a productive 2019 season! For the Cardinals..
2016
Eagles receive pick 8 - traded
Dolphins receive pick 13, LB Kiko Alonso, & CB Byron Maxwell - pick 13 became T Laremy Tunsil
Alonso was a really good player for Miami! Maxwell was not. But selecting "weed junkie" Laremy Tunsil ultimately got the Dolphins a haul of draft picks that they're making use of this year.
Based on this trade alone, and nothing that came after, it's a push. But you know that's not the case..
Eagles receive pick 2 & 2017 fourth round pick - 2 became QB Carson Wentz & the fourth round pick was traded
Browns receive picks 8, 77, 100, 2017 first round pick, & 2018 second round pick - All of the picks were involved in trades
The Eagles got a franchise QB who holds a handful of records and helped the team get in position to win the Super Bowl. You tell me who won this trade.
Eagles receive picks 196 & 240 - 196 became DB Blake Countess & 240 became DE Alex Mccalister
Vikings receive pick 188 - became TE Blake Morgan
Push? Over a cliff?
Prior to draft:
Eagles receive pick 100
Titans receive RB DeMarco Murray & pick 116
Prior to 2016 season:
Eagles receive 2017 first round pick & 2017 conditional fourth round pick - first became DE Derek Barnett and fourth became DE Josh Sweat
Vikings receive QB Sam Bradford
The most iconic fumble recovery in team history and quite arguably the best DE on the team outside of BG? For Sammy Sleeves?
During 2016 season:
Eagles receive conditional 2018 pick (became fourth round) - was traded for RB Jay Ajayi in 2017
Patriots receive CB Eric Rowe
Eagles used the pick to trade for one of the best mid-season acquisitions in team history.
2017
Before the draft
Eagles receive DT Timmy Jernigan & pick 99 - became CB Rasul Douglas
Ravens receive pick 74 - became DT Chris Wormley
A huge addition to the DL in Jernigan and a not-always-so-good CB in Rasul Douglas but he did have his fair share of good plays. This is a win for the Eagles.
Eagles receive pick 132 - became RB Donnel Pumphrey
Vikings receive picks 139 & 230 - 139 was traded again and 230 was traded again
LOL.
Eagles receive picks 164 & 214 - 164 was traded & 214 became DT Elijah Qualls
Titans receive pick 155 - became LB Jayon Brown
Brown has 330 tackles in his four seasons with the Titans. Qualls has played six games.
Eagles receive picks 166 & 184 - 166 became WR Shelton Gibson & 184 became #47
Dolphins receive pick 164 - became G Isaac Asiata
I want to say Eagles lose this one. I really want to. But Asiata has played in two games.
Ugh.
2018
Eagles receive picks 52, 125, & 2019 second round pick - 52 was traded, 125 became CB Avonte Maddox, and the 2019 pick became RB Miles Sanders
Ravens receive picks 32 & 132 - 32 became QB Lamar Jackson & 132 became WR Jaleel Scott
I'd lean this as a push with a slight Eagles edge.
The Eagles got one of the best rookie safeties in 2018 in Maddox (yes, he was) who is now being thought of as a bust because of how he was thrust into an outside corner spot last season. 52 was used to trade up for (see below) and Miles Sanders was picked in 2019 using the other pick. A lot to like there.
While Lamar Jackson has become a star for the Ravens, it's been more of the "running back who can kind of throw" variety. Now that he has Sammy Watkins and maybe another receiver in this draft, maybe he becomes more of a QB. I doubt it.
Eagles receive pick 49 - became TE Dallas Goedert
Colts receive picks 52 & 169 (nice) - 52 became LB Kemoko Turay & 169 became RB Jordan Wilkins
The Eagles were able to get 2021's TE1 (probably) and the Colts were left with a LB who has 20 tackles in two years and a RB4 who might get traded.
Eagles receive pick 233 - became T Jordan Mailata
Patriots receive pick 250 & 2019 seventh round pick - 250 became TE Ryan Izzo & the seventh round pick was traded
Where would the Eagles offensive line have been without Mailata in 2020?
During 2018 season:
Eagles receive WR Golden Tate
Lions receive 2019 third round pick - was traded
Lol.
2019
Eagles receive pick 22 - became T Andre Dillard
Ravens receive picks 25, 127, & 197 - 25 became WR Marquise Brown, 127 became CB Iman Marshall, & 197 became QB Trace McSorley
Despite his frame, Marquise Brown has been able to stay relatively healthy in his first two seasons with the Ravens. He had 769 (nice) yards last season but drops are an issue. Neither Marshall or McSorley mean much.
The Eagles thought they were getting Jason Peters' replacement in Dillard. Instead, they got a guy who got bullied constantly by the DEs in training camp and has an attitude problem. Mailata should be the LT in 2021.
Ravens.
Eagles receive picks 167 & 246 - 167 became QB Clayton Thorson & 246 was traded for DT Hassan Ridgeway
Patriots receive pick 163 - became P Jake Bailey
The Patriots got a starting punter and the Eagles got a theme song and ultimately a rotational DT (I like him!)
Eagles?
Before 2019 season:
Eagles receive WR DeSean Jackson & 2020 seventh round pick
Buccaneers receive 2018 sixth round pick - became WR Scotty Miller
Lol.
During 2019 season:
Eagles receive DE/LB Genard Avery
Browns receive 2021 fourth round pick
We will finally see Avery at his natural position of LB in 2021.
Eagles receive LB Duke Riley & 2020 sixth round pick
Falcons receive S Johnathan Cyprien & 2020 seventh round pick
2020
Eagles receive pick 164 & 2021 fifth round pick - 164 was traded
Cowboys receive pick 146 - became C Tyler Biadasz
Cowboys may have gotten their C of the future, but 164 led to another trade.
Eagles receive WR Marquise Goodwin & pick 210 - became T Prince Tega Wanogho
49ers receive pick 190 - became TE Charlie Woerner
This is a mess. Move on.
Eagles receive picks 196, 200, & 233 - 196 became LB Shaun Bradley, 200 became WR Quez Watkins, & 233 became DE Casey Toohill
Bears receive picks 173 (was traded to Eagles from Dolphins for 164) & 227 - 173 became WR Darnell Mooney & 227 became G Lachavious Simmons
Eagles ended up with a promising LB, a promising WR, and a promising-yet-cut-for-no-reason DE.
Mooney is a stud.
Push.
Before draft:
Eagles receive CB Darius Slay
Lions receive picks 85 & 166 - 85 was traded & 166 became WR Quintez Cephus
Cephus actually had a decent year for the Lions and should see an uptick in playing time in 2021.
The Eagles finally have a legit CB1.
Eagles.
Eagles receive pick 168 - became WR John Hightower
Patriots receive DE Michael Bennett & pick 235 - 235 was traded
Eagles got a deep threat (who has drop issues) and Bennett lasted six games with the Patriots.
Eagles, barely.
We all know about the 2021 trade down. Will the Eagles trade back up? Will they trade back down? Will they stay put?
Find out Thursday on an all new: Will Howie Mess It Up?!
