The Philadelphia Flyers are starting to turn things around. Having now won three in a row, the team is making positive strides. Wednesday night's 3-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres was highlighted by a memorable performance from rookie Cole Knuble.

Just two days after making his NHL debut against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, Knuble scored the first two goals of his NHL career, helping Philadelphia extend its winning streak to three games.

The 22-year-old forward opened the scoring in the first period, giving the Flyers an early advantage before Trevor Zegras doubled the lead on the power play. Buffalo managed to cut the deficit to one late in the second period, but Knuble wasn't finished making his mark.

Early in the third period, Knuble found the back of the net for the second time, restoring Philadelphia's two-goal advantage and putting the Flyers in a stronger position to close out the contest.

The moment was particularly special considering Knuble's family connection to the organization. His father, Mike Knuble, spent several seasons in Philadelphia, making Cole's early NHL success in a Flyers uniform even more meaningful.

Dan Vladar also played an important role in the victory, turning aside 27 shots and providing stability between the pipes.

After opening the season with frustrating performances and questions surrounding the team's direction, Philadelphia is beginning to show signs of improvement. The Flyers have now won three consecutive games, with younger players stepping up and making an immediate impact.

For Knuble, scoring twice in his second NHL appearance is a remarkable way to begin his career. For the Flyers, it's another encouraging sign that their next generation of talent could play an important role in the team's future.

Philadelphia still has plenty to prove, but Wednesday's victory was another step in the right direction.
