Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert reportedly was not practicing for a second straight day as the team prepares for their Week 2 matchup at Kansas City on Sunday.
Goedert is dealing with a knee sprain according to 94.1 WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks.

After missing practice on Wednesday, Goedert was not seen on the practice fields Thursday afternoon either. The eight-year veteran paced the Eagles with seven catches on seven targets for 44 yards in the 24-20 win over Dallas in the season-opener.

Goedert's injury history
Unfortunately, for the former second-round pick out of South Dakota State, injuries have been a prevalent issue throughout his career. Last season, he suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 6 game against the Browns forcing him to miss three games. After returning, he suffered a knee injury late in the game against the Ravens in Week 13 resulting in four more games missed. He ultimately played in just 10 regular season games.
In 2023, he fractured his forearm in early November missing three games. The 2022 season, he was forced to sit out for over a month after being placed on the injured reserve with a shoulder injury late in Week 10.
Despite missing a good number of games, when he is on the field, he is a two-way threat in the passing and running game. As a target through the air, the 30-year-old has racked up 4,129 receiving yards on 356 catches with 24 touchdowns. What goes under the radar is his ability to run block to help the Eagles continue their strong rushing attack.
Who would fill in?
Grant Calcaterra would be the first in line to step in for Goedert if he were to not play on Sunday. The backup tight end had the most runway in his career last season because of the injuries Goedert suffered and hauled in 24 catches on 30 targets for 298 yards and one touchdown.

Calcaterra however struggles with blocking. The Eagles may employ Kylen Granson who has been able to provide a bit more stability in that department.

If there is one player the Eagles have become accustomed to playing without it is Goedert. His status is still uncertain for Sunday, but the Eagles are a better offense with him on the field.
