The Philadelphia Eagles will open the season by hosting the Washington Commanders in a bitter NFC East rival match. Before we get to predicting the outcome of that game, the Eagles’ team over at Philly Sports Network came together to provide their season predictions. Here are their predictions on how things will pan out for the Birds in 2026:
The Eagles are looking not only to bounce back but to make a statement in the process. After their drama-riddled season in 2025, I strongly believe we will see an upgraded version of the 2024 championship team. With Jalen Hurts no longer relying on AJ Brown, I can see him playing with a bit more freedom which will help that chip on his shoulder stand out.
While the season will start with a bit of an easier slate on paper, the Eagles can not allow themselves to get complacent with “safe” football on offense. They need to let Hurts and Mannion off the leash and allow themselves to open up the playbook. With matchups against the Commanders, Titans, and Bears to open up the season, I’d expect the Eagles to find their footing and start fast before heading into their season’s gauntlet from week 4 to week 8.
If they are able to weather the storm through the tough travel and less restful period from week 4 to week 8 then I strongly believe the Eagles can finish at 12-5 on the season. Which means that they will be well on their way to locking up a third consecutive divisional crown.
Overall Record: 12-5
I see the Eagles finishing at 12–5. I think this is a team that should be in the mix for the NFC’s top seed again, and one that will be in every game. The gauntlet, as it were, starts week three with a trip to Chicago for a Monday night clash with a team that embarrassed them on the Friday after Thanksgiving last season. The following game is at home on a short week against the Rams before flying over the pond to face the Jaguars in London.
The Eagles reportedly did not take their bye week after that trip and face the Panthers at home, and it ends the way the five-game stretch began: with a Monday night game, this time against the divisional Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles end the season with two road games, including a trip to San Francisco that could play into postseason seeding. I am very optimistic and believe they will win their division and play on three holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Valentine's Day, when they will beat the Buffalo Bills to raise the Lombardi for the third time since Feb. 2018.
Overall Record: 12-5
The Eagles open the 2026 campaign with their eyes set on a sixth postseason appearance under Nick Sirianni. With A.J. Brown off to New England this offseason, hopefully there will be less drama on South Broad this fall so that Jalen Hurts and the Birds can “keep the main thing, the main thing” and focus on winning football games. If you read the NFC East preview earlier this week, I am not exactly a believer in the talent around the NFC East, even if the Cowboys do start the season on fire. The New York Giants could be a real threat if Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo pick up where they left off before it all fell apart late last season.
If the Eagles can win most of their home dates at Lincoln Financial Field, the Birds should be well positioned to hang a third consecutive NFC East banner in September 2027. The Eagles' offensive line must stay healthy to allow the trio of Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and DeVonta Smith should be able to work their offensive magic to plenty of wins. It could take a few weeks for rookie Makai Lemon to get up to speed this season, but he should be a full participant in the offense by the time the Eagles reach the bye in Week 10. Philadelphia holds a 6-3 record heading into the break with home wins over Carolina, Dallas and New York leading the way.
The Thanksgiving game in Dallas feels like a holiday test the Eagles fail to pass, but three more wins in December (at Arizona, vs. Indianapolis, vs. Houston) set up a lovely Christmas on South Broad with the Eagles at 10-6 with two games left on the schedule, a West Coast road trip to San Francisco and a trip north to MetLife Stadium to battle the Giants in the final week of the regular season. Unfortunately for New York supporters, the Eagles have the division wrapped up before that contest arrives which leads the NFL to turn to other final scheduled games for their featured primetime contests in Week 17.
Philadelphia finishes the 2026 season with an 11-6 record while celebrating another division title under Sirianni. Despite his success, Hurts remains disrespected by the national media all year, but he silences his critics through wins on the field. A re-energized Barkley dashes for 1600+ yards this season, reminding the entire world why he is considered one of the best running backs in the business. Finally, the Eagles defense behind Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean is able to showcase why the group is considered one of the best groups in the NFL.
None of this guarantees success in the postseason, but getting to the playoffs is the first step of the equation. The Eagles have a strong enough group to get that done in 2026.
Overall Record: 11-6
Expectations remain high for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into the season. With the majority of the roster still intact along with some additions, the Eagles are the favorites to win the NFC East for a third straight season with a rather favorable schedule, having the 10th easiest strength of schedule to start the year.
Despite a down year across the board offensively, the team still won 11 games. This is a pivotal season for Nick Sirianni and his team with another new offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion and a unit that has some unknowns surrounding the group regarding the offensive line, wide receiving corps, and the running game.
Since the schedule was released I said that this team should match last season’s win total or perhaps surpass it.
Starting off with a tricky season opener against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, the Eagles should continue their dominance in season openers under Nick Sirianni where they are 5-0. They should steamroll the Titans in Week 2 to open out of the gate 2-0.
However, I have them losing the next two weeks on the road at Chicago in the first of two Monday Night Football games the Eagles play this season and fall to the Rams at home.
The law of averages says the Eagles can’t keep sneaking past the Rams.
However, the team bounces back after a close game against Los Angeles and goes on a run in the middle of the season proving that they are still the team to beat in the division and one of the top teams in the NFC. That starts with a gutsy win in London against the Jaguars on short rest.
That victory will be a turning point in the season, as the Eagles will rip off five straight wins including taking care of their division rivals in Dallas, Washington, and New York to move to 7-2 before their Week 10 bye.
After the bye, the schedule gets more challenging. They get back into the swing of things with a Keystone State battle against Pittsburgh which they will win before falling to the Cowboys to spoil Thanksgiving Day. The Eagles bounce back the next two weeks against the Cardinals and Colts to feel good heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
The mini gauntlet from Weeks 15-17 will be a lot of fun to watch with playoff implications riding on every game.
The Eagles will play three games in a span of 16 days, starting with a Saturday clash against the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks. I think they outlast Seattle in this one, but with the quick turnaround on Christmas Eve, they have a bit of a letdown game against Houston.
Philadelphia will pick themselves back up with the division title on the line heading out west for a Sunday night battle against San Francisco where they grind out a win against Brock Purdy and the 49ers to claim a third straight NFC East Division crown.
The Week 18 game will be a loss at the Giants with the backups in while Sirianni ensures he has his players rested for a potential run at another Super Bowl.
Overall Record: 11-6
