Eagles Draft Tracker: Live day 3 updates & picks

After a solid first two days in the NFL Draft, the Eagles are shifting their focus to day three.

The Eagles have had a stellar first and second days of the NFL Draft. While the focus so far has been on offense, the Eagles could switch gears to defense on day three.

To recap what the Eagles have done so far, in round one they selected Makai Lemon with the 20th overall pick after trading with the Cowboys to leap the Steelers. They followed that pick with selected TE Eli Stowers at 54th overall and OT Markel Bell at 68th overall.

In between those two picks, they landed a veteran pass rusher in Jonathan Greenard and extended him to a four-year, $100 million deal with $50 million guaranteed.

With the bar set too high after the first two days, what do the Eagles have in store for us on the final day of the draft?

5th round - 178th pick -  QB, Cole Payton, North Dakota State

Payton is a dual-threat left-handed quarterback with a ton of athleticism. However, there is not a large sample size with last season being his lone season as the starting QB for the Bison. He completed 72.5% of his passes last season throwing for 2,719 yards with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also added 777 yards and 13 scores with his legs.

He ran a 4.56-second 40-yard dash and with his strong, physical build he could be viewed as a Taysom Hill type where he can be used in multiple ways offensively while still developing as a passer.

6th round - 197th pick traded to the Rams in exchange for picks 207, 251, and 252.

6th round - 207th pick - G Micah Morris, Georgia

A big and powerful offensive lineman that can develop into a start in due time. Howie Roseman leans into his love for players in the Georgia program but this time its on offense. At 6'5", Morris has played at both tackle and guard. He could be the swing tackle that the Eagles love to have around.

7th round - 244th pick - S Cole Wisniewski, Texas Tech

A big physical safety that loves playing downhill. Hes a good tackler and solid defender in the box. The Wiz could be a good, sneaky pick up for the Eagles that are in desperate need of a talented safety to line up alongside Andrew Mukuba.

7th round - 251st pick - DT Uar Bernard

An extremely raw and talented athlete that will be a bit of a project for the Eagles but when your measurables and traits rival a player likle Myles Garett then its hard to say no. Uar is a true unicorn with a high upside.

7th round - 252nd pick - OLB Keyshawn James-Newby, New Mexico

Keyshawn has a high motor and could fit this young edge group very well. Projected to be a rotational piece but when you're learning from the likes of Jonathan Greenard then you're ceiling will be much higher than expected. James-Newby is another player that could be a good, sneaky pickup.
