A Villanova man has been indicted for attempting to bribe a city official.Daniel Apokorin, 61, and several other men allegedly presented $5,000 in cash to a city official in an attempt to expedite the purchase of a property on the 7100 block of James Street in Tacony. The official reported the bribery attempt, leading to a joint investigation by the Philadelphia Office of the Inspector General and the FBI.During the investigation, Apokorin and the other men allegedly gave an additional $5,000 to an undercover federal agent posing as a city official.“We should celebrate these honest public servants for standing up against corruption,” said Inspector General Amy Kurland.“When city employees refuse to sell their integrity, they cast light on a dying stereotype. Most city employees are honest and hard-working. They want to earn only what they deserve.”
