More than 250,000 people have visited FIFA Fan Festival Philadelphia since it opened June 11 at Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Park, organizers announced this week.
The attendance milestone comes despite several days of severe weather that forced the festival to close early on multiple occasions because of thunderstorms and high winds.
Organizers also said Philadelphia recorded the largest single-day FIFA Fan Festival crowd of any U.S. host city, drawing nearly 55,000 visitors on June 19 as fans gathered to watch Brazil face Haiti at Philadelphia Stadium.
The festival is part of Philadelphia's FIFA World Cup 2026 festivities and is unique among U.S. host cities because it operates every day of the tournament. While fan festivals in other cities are open only on select dates, Philadelphia's event runs continuously throughout the World Cup, from June 11 through July 19.
“Crossing 250,000 guests and doing it while welcoming the biggest single-day Fan Festival crowd in the country, says everything about how Philadelphia shows up for a moment like this,” said Michael DelBene, executive producer of FIFA Fan Festival Philadelphia for Philadelphia Soccer 2026. “Being the only U.S. host city open every day of the tournament means there is always a place here to celebrate the world’s game.
"Philadelphia has embraced that role like nowhere else.”
The free festival features live match broadcasts, entertainment, interactive activities and more than 80 food vendors. Organizers say the site also includes a 10,000-square-foot retail space and programming designed for fans of all ages.
The festival operates daily, weather permitting. Organizers said temporary closures may occur during dangerous weather conditions, including lightning and high winds.
The FIFA Fan Festival is scheduled to remain open through July 19.
