Philadelphia residents can now receive free flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines at City Health Centers across the city, the Department of Public Health announced on Thursday.
The seasonal vaccine clinics are open to all residents ages 6 months and older. No appointment is required, and vaccines are provided at no cost. Residents only need to show proof of Philadelphia residency, such as a utility bill.
“We know that seasonal vaccines, like the flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine, can and do save lives every year,” said Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Palak Raval-Nelson. “Having them available for free, right in your neighborhood, is the best way we can make sure that it’s easy to protect yourself and your loved ones."
Health officials say the annual flu shot remains the most effective way to prevent severe illness from influenza, particularly for children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems. The updated COVID-19 vaccine continues to reduce the risk of severe disease and infection, especially among adults 65 and older.
Walk-in vaccine clinics are operating at the following locations:
Health Center 3 Annex
43rd Street and Chester Avenue
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
More information about flu and COVID-19 vaccination locations is available on the Health Department’s website.
