A teenage girl was stabbed last night following a city-sponsored event to reduce youth violence in Juniata Park. The City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Youth Commission sponsored a bowling party at Erie Lanes as part of the Mayor's plans to offer extended community rec center hours and expanded youth programs.A teenage girl was stabbed in the arm three blocks from the party while walking home, allegedly by an 18-year-old male who alsoattended. Police arrested a suspect this morning.“It’sunfortunate that this one individual made a very bad judgment and didsomething for which he is now in trouble. The criminal justice systemwill now deal with this youngman,” said Mayor Nutter in a statement. “But an incident like this doesn’t change inany way, shape or form, the great night young people had at this event. And overall, it was a pretty quiet night in Philadelphia.”
