The Philadelphia Flyers have added more draft capital after trading veteran forward Garnet Hathaway to the Florida Panthers. In the deal, the Flyers acquired a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft. Philadelphia also sent a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft to Florida as part of the trade.

Hathaway spent the last three seasons with the Flyers and became a fan favorite thanks to his physical style of play and leadership. During his time in Philadelphia, he recorded 18 goals and 23 assists for 41 points in 215 games.

The 33-year-old forward brings plenty of NHL experience, having appeared in 672 career games with the Flyers, Bruins, Capitals, and Flames. Throughout his 11 NHL seasons, Hathaway has totaled 76 goals and 87 assists for 163 points.

For the Flyers, the move continues Daniel Briere's focus on building for the future. The additional draft picks give Philadelphia more flexibility as the organization continues its rebuild and prepares for the upcoming drafts.

Following the trade, the Flyers now hold four selections in the 2026 NHL Draft, including the 21st overall pick in the first round.
