According to Jeff McLane, Lane Johnson will indeed be spending next season in midnight green. The stalwart right tackle will be competing in his 14th season of NFL football, all of which have been spent with the Eagles.
There was some previous doubt about Johnson's future. The departure of Jeff Stoutland and a growing injury history only seemed to further write on the wall, but as we've come to expect, the Oklahoma product ripped it down and will return to his throne in 2026.
Johnson has become a staple of the Philadelphia offensive front, winning 2 Super Bowls and earning 2 first-team All-Pro nods, alongside 6 Pro Bowls. With the Eagles' offense leaning so much on dominant offensive line play over the last decade, it's fair to say that their success might not have been what it was without the presence of one of the all-time great tackles to ever play in this City.
The veteran graded 9th of all offensive tackles in pass-blocking according to PFF in 2025, and while his run-blocking left a little to be desired, no stat or analytic could ever properly express how important he is to this team.
With that said, the Eagles will still need to do their homework during the upcoming NFL draft. One question has now been answered, but there are several more haunting what was one of the most stable groups in all of Football. For now though, Eagles fans can relax knowing that Lane Johnson will be wearing midnight green for one more season.
