Philly, prepare to be amazed.

This fall, the Kimmel Center is inviting audiences to step into a world of close-up magic, cocktails, live music, comedy and a mystery that unfolds right in front of them.

The Magicians Table, an internationally acclaimed immersive magic experience from London, will make its Philadelphia debut at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts from Oct. 21 through Nov. 22.

The limited five-week run is designed as more than a traditional magic show. The experience blends intimate illusions with immersive storytelling, live music, handcrafted cocktails and plenty of comedy, creating an adults-only night out that feels part theater, part magic show and part dinner-party mystery.

The evening begins before the main performance even starts. Guests will enter a curated lounge where they can enjoy signature cocktails while magicians move throughout the space, performing spontaneous sleight-of-hand and close-up illusions.

From there, audiences will head into SEI Innovation Studio, the Kimmel Center’s intimate black-box theater,  where world-class magicians perform table-side and on the main stage, wowing guests with spectacular illusions and redefining what the art of magic can be.

That's where the story really begins.

The Magicians Table invites audiences into an immersive evening celebrating the life of the fictional magician Dieter Roterburg. Hosted by Dieter’s devoted widow, Calliope, the gathering brings together his closest friends and fellow performers to celebrate the life of the beloved showman. Throughout the evening, touring magicians and Philadelphia-area performers will perform both table-side and onstage, bringing the audience unusually close to the action.

What begins as a tribute to a beloved showman quickly becomes something more, as a series of letters and surprises left behind by Dieter reveal that the magician may have one final trick still waiting to unfold.

"The Kimmel Center was built to bring people together, and we're always looking for new ways to create exceptional experiences for our audiences," says Ryan Fleur, President and CEO, adding that these experiences "transform our spaces in creative ways that inspire curiosity, connection, and discovery."

The production is intended for guests ages 18 and older. Select 1 p.m. Saturday matinees will also be available for guests ages 14 and older.

Tickets are now on sale through Ensemble Arts Philly. They can be purchased online, by calling 215-893-1999 or in person at the Academy of Music Box Office at 240 S. Broad St., which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit ensembleartsphilly.org.
