Malcolm Jenkins is officially going to be inducted into the Eagles' Hall of Fame alongside fellow 2x Champion, Bucko Kilroy.
This is something that fans, and players/staff both former and current, will be jubilant about. Jenkins defined what it means to be a Philadelphia Eagle during his six-year stint with the team. After signing with the Birds back in the 2014 offseason, he went on to earn three pro-bowl nominations and a second Super Bowl ring (LII).
Jenkins started all 96 regular season games he was a member of the Eagles, never missing one. During that stint, he amassed a stunning 515 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 12 forced-fumbles, 58 pass breakups and 11 interceptions.
As good as his play was on the field, it was his leadership and character that made him such a strong fan-favorite. Jenkins understood what it meant to thrive in the City of Philadelphia, as did the late Bucko Kilroy, who will be inducted alongside him.
"A captain on our first Super Bowl-winning team in 2017, Malcolm was a tenacious player who was beloved by his teammates and coaches for the thoughtful leadership and veteran presence he provided. We proudly congratulate both men, along with their families, and look forward to officially inducting them into the Eagles Hall of Fame in November." said Jeffrey Lurie via the official press release.
"Malcolm and Bucko are most deserving of our team's highest honor, having played integral roles on the 1948, 1949, and 2017 championship-winning teams," Lurie said in a statement. "Along with seven of his teammates, Bucko is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's All-Decade Team of the 1940s – an era in which he helped lead the franchise to back-to-back NFL Championships in 1948 and 1949."
The two will be immortalized forever in the upcoming game against Chicago on November 28th.
