Aman led police on a car chase from West Philadelphia through CenterCity to South Philadelphia after allegedly shooting another man earlythis morning.Anofficer heard two gunshots from the 500 block of N. PaxtonStreet in the Mill Creek section of West Philadelphia around 3:50 a.m.He observed a male fleeing in an alleyway and a second man, who had beenshot, pursuing the alleged gunman.Thealleged shooter jumped into a 1998 Ford Windstar and sped away, leadingpolice on a pursuit down I-95, ending near the Walt Whitman Bridge in South Philadelphia.There, heintentionally rammed three police cars and then attempted to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended.Noofficers were injured, but the complainant, 52, had minor injuries fromthe crash and was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. He reportedlythrew a handgun out of the car window during the chase and police confirmedthey have recovered a weapon.The shooting victim, 41, is in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.Police continue to investigate the incident.
