MLS Matchday 11 has arrived. There was no midweek action like we had last week, but we are due for another thrilling weekend of action.
The Florida Derby is the main highlight of this matchday. Inter Miami will host their first Florida Derby at Nu Stadium against Orlando City. Miami is still searching for its first win at Nu Stadium.
San Diego FC will host LAFC in this week's edition of the Walmart Saturday Showdown. San Diego has fallen off from last year's pace and is trying to work its way back up the standings. LAFC is sitting in third, but they are seven points behind the West leaders, the San Jose Earthquakes, and second-place Vancouver Whitecaps. The Seattle Sounders are in fourth, just one point behind.
The lowly Philadelphia Union can't catch a break. They played poorly in a 2-0 loss to the Columbus Crew last Saturday in Matchday 10, and now host Nashville SC. If the Union can muster even one point against Nashville, I think that will feel like a win.
Sunday Night Soccer will feature Austin FC hosting St. Louis City. Austin is coming off a win over the Houston Dynamo and wants every point possible to climb up in the West.
