We have made it to the final MLS Matchday before the FIFA World Cup break! MLS action will return on Thursday, July 16, after the conclusion of the World Cup.
Matchday 14 was full of crazy moments. Inter Miami got its first win at Nu Stadium, Hany Mukhtar scored a hat trick against LAFC, there was stoppage time chaos in San Diego, and Sam Sarver dumped a beer on his face after scoring the winning goal against San Jose.
This weekend's edition of the Walmart Saturday Showdown will feature the Portland Timbers hosting the San Jose Earthquakes at Providence Park. The Quakes are winless in their last four games, but have gotten two draws. They are currently on a two-game losing streak and will hope to get back into the win column against 12th-place Portland.
Sunday Night Soccer will feature Inter Miami hosting the Philadelphia Union at Nu Stadium, and LAFC hosting the Seattle Sounders at BMO Stadium.
Miami versus Philly is a match between two clubs at pretty much opposite ends of the Eastern Conference. Miami is in second, while Philly is last in 15th. Philly remains at the bottom of the Supporters' Shield and is in pole position for the 'Wooden Spoon'.
LAFC dropped down to seventh in the Western Conference after their loss to Nashville SC on Sunday Night Soccer last weekend. They are on a three-game losing streak in league play. The Sounders are coming off a 2-0 loss to the LA Galaxy last weekend, too. Seattle is sitting fourth in the West, two points above FC Dallas.
Saturday night's matchup between the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo will be shot entirely on an iPhone 17 Pro! Pretty sweet.
Here is the schedule and betting preview for MLS Matchday 15.
