Indie rock band Mt. Joy has enjoyed quite the eventful run as of late.
The band, founded by Greater Philadelphia natives and Conestoga High graduates Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper, released their latest LP, 'Hope We Have Fun,' and toured across North America, raising and donating nearly $500,000 to local charities in each city they visited in 2025. They partnered with the Philly Specials for 'A Philly Christmas Special,' the third and final album in their trilogy in 2024, helping raise over $3 million for children across Philadelphia.
In 2026, the band will celebrate its decaversary. After ten years of music, tours, and throughout it all, charitable acts, the group is set for more success moving forward, beginning with the second part of their Hope We Have Fun Tour, and headlined by their annual hometown show, taking place at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, on Sept. 25, 2026.
The band spent two sold-out nights at The Mann this past September, joined on stage by some Philly legends, SNACKTIME and the Phanatic, making for two unforgettable nights in the band’s beloved city of Philadelphia.
During the show, the band hosted a non-perishable food drive alongside Philly-based partners, Sharing Excess, as they will again in 2026.
"Food insecurity is something that we have kind of circled and worked with for a few years now," Quinn told Metro ahead of their 2025 hometown show. "Sharing Excess is a really cool charity where they try to connect excess food, as the name sort of indicates, with people who need it.
“We waste an extraordinary amount of food in the United States. Food insecurity is something that impacts Philadelphia a great deal. There are amazing charities like Philabundance as well that try to tackle this, but it seems pretty self-explanatory that if you have extra food that we're throwing away, and you have people going hungry, then we've got to fill that gap.”
This year, as part of the band’s long-standing commitment to supporting the community, Mt. Joy will donate $1 for every ticket sold to local nonprofits. Tickets are on presale now and will be available for general sale on Dec. 5.
