Information sought in New Year’s Day beating in Center City

The attack happened around 2 a.m. on Chestnut Street.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who knocked a person unconscious on New Year’s Day in Center City.

The attack happened at around 2 a.m. Jan. 1 on the 1600 block of Chestnut Street, investigators said. On Tuesday, the PPD released an image of the two suspects, believed to be in their 30s, inside a vehicle.

Police said a 37-year-old man was walking down the block when the pair assaulted him. He was kicked and punched multiple times after being knocked to the ground, according to authorities.
