Howie Roseman attempts the ultimate low-risk, high-reward move with the trade deadline approaching.

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to be active as the NFL's trade deadline rapidly approaches. On Saturday, the team acquired cornerback Jaire Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, initially owned by the Denver Broncos. In a related move, the Eagles also placed safety Marcus Epps and outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari on Injured Reserve.

Alexander spent seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, establishing himself as one of the premier outside corners in the league. Over that time, he was named to the Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro twice—once in 2020 and again in 2022.

The Packers released Alexander after a rash of trade rumors back in June, allowing the Ravens to sign him to a one-year contract. As evidenced by this move, Alexander did not have the impact Baltimore had hoped for, playing in just two games and registering five tackles.

Alexander had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after tearing his PCL in October of 2024. Even in Baltimore, the issue persisted, as Alexander required his knee to be drained multiple times and was eventually shut down.

It's a lot to expect his knee to be miraculously healed, but if Alexander can find a way to get his body right, this could be the ultimate low-risk, high-reward move by Howie Roseman.
