At least five people were injured in gun violence that occurred over the weekend across Philadelphia.
Authorities said a man and a woman arrived wounded at Temple University Hospital’s Episcopal Campus after shots were fired just after 11 a.m. on the 500 block of Lehigh Avenue in the Fairhill neighborhood.
Police released no information about the condition of the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Both are adults, although law enforcement officials have not provided their exact ages.
Earlier Sunday, at around 7:45 a.m., a man with a gunshot wound walked into Temple University’s main hospital, according to the PPD. Investigators believe he was shot on the 4400 block of N. American Street in Feltonville. No further details were available Sunday.
A 38-year-old man is expected to survive after he was shot during a robbery Saturday night in North Philadelphia, authorities said.
Officials said the victim was approached by two men at around 11:15 p.m. on the 3200 block of N. 6th Street. The suspects took an unknown amount of cash from the man and shot him in the ankle, according to the PPD.
Law enforcement described one of the assailants as a 5-foot-3-inch-tall Hispanic man in his mid-20s with a slim build, short hair and beard who was last seen wearing red and black clothing. The other suspect is a tall Black man in his mid-30s with a heavy build who was wearing black clothing and a black mask, police added.
Someone shot a 20-year-old man just after 5:15 p.m. Saturday on the 700 block of Diamond Street in North Philadelphia, investigators said. Responding officers rushed him to Temple Hospital in critical condition, according to authorities.
The PPD did not report any immediate arrests in connection with any of the violence. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
Through Dec. 27, 906 people had been shot this year in Philadelphia, down 15% from the same date in 2024, according to police data.
