PHILADELPHIA, PA - The last time Alec Bohm hit a home run, the Phillies were hosting Opening Day.
Much like that day, Bohm's blast helped lead the Phillies towards a victory.
A solo shot in the bottom of the third inning tied the ballgame at 1-1. A few batters later, Kyle Schwarber joined the fun with a three-run home run of his own.
Schwarber's home run was his 14th of the season. He is currently behind Aaron Judge (15) and Munetaka Murakami (15) for the Major League lead.
Bohm continued to see the ball well out of the hand of Kyle Freeland. Bohm led off the fourth inning nearly copying his first at bat. A line drive home run to left field gave him his second home run of the game.
It was Bohm's fifth career multi-home run game. His first since April 19, 2024 against the Chicago White Sox.
Aaron Nola continues to pitch to his new standard.
At time, he looks unhittable, often when he is locating his knuckle-curve. Other times, Nola struggles to command the zone, which typically leads to big innings, and/or, home runs.
In the top of the second inning, the latter occurred. Nola allowed a solo blast to Willi Castro, giving Colorado an early lead.
After his offense provided some much needed run support, Nola gave two runs right back in the fourth.
A successful ABS challenge overturned a strikeout into a walk. Instead of the inning ending, two men were on. They would both score with a bases clearing double from Kyle Karros, who entered the game with a .222 batting average.
Nola would get chased in the fifth, but a reliving Tim Mayza would slam the door after Nola exited with two runners on.
Final line for Aaron Nola: 4.2 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, and 1 HR
Bryce Harper exited in the first inning with a migraine. He did not bat in the ballgame and was instead pinch-hit for by Felix Reyes.
Alec Bohm finished Saturday's game with 4 RBIs.
One night after going 0/6, Trea Turner flipped the script. Turner went 4/5, all singles, tacking on a stolen base.
Edmundo Sosa got the start in left field for the first time in over a calendar year and for the third time in his career. Sosa only got one ball hit to him, a double that he fielded on a slide.
He would be lifted later in the game for Justin Crawford.
Brandon Marsh extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
Final: Phillies 9, Rockies 3.
With the win, the Phillies improved to 18-22 on the season. They will look to win their fourth straight series against the Rockies on Sunday.
