Phillies vs Giants: The Phillies bats finally cooled off in last night’s narrow 1-0 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Another Zack Wheeler masterclass just wasn’t quite enough to lift the Phils over the finish line, but they’ll have a shot at redemption this evening.

Phillies vs Giants: Pitching preview
Cristopher Sanchez (2-3, 3.15 ERA) vs Kyle Harrison (4-1, 3.90 ERA)
The Phillies will be rolling with Christopher Sanchez this afternoon, who has allowed 3 runs or less in each of his last 4 outings. He’s pitched 5 innings or deeper in each of those starts too and while he has been allowing frequent hits, he’s been able to keep offenses quiet during the opening stage of the season.
Across from Sanchez will be Kyle Harrison, who has been steady this season, giving up 4+ runs only twice in 11 games. He’s also averaging around 4 strikeouts per game, which could present some value if we expect the Phillies offense to bounce back.
Phillies vs Rangers: Betting preview
The Phillies are favored to win game 2 of this series despite yesterday’s defeat, and the pitching matchup feels relatively tame. It’s unlikely that both offenses struggle as much as they did last night, however, and I think there is some value on the OVER given that we’re seeing two top-10 units battle it out in a friendlier pitching showdown.
Betting pick: OVER 7.5 runs
Prop bet fun
Alec Bohm has become an RBI machine this season, but has cooled off since his red-hot streak ended, posting just 2 hits in his last 6 games. I like him to break that cycle this afternoon, with the RBI prop sitting at +135.
