A woman, reportedly six months pregnant, was beaten to death in the basement of her South Philadelphia home early this morning, police said.Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene at a house on the 2300 blockof South Mildred Street, between 8th and 9th streets near Wolf Street,after receiving a 911 call shortly before 2:30 a.m. They found the victim, 24,with severe blunt force trauma to the head and pronounced her dead sevenminutes later.Initial reports indicate that a three-year-old and eight-year-old childwere also present at the time of the death. There were reportedly nosigns of forced entry, and police said they believe this is an isolatedincident.Authorities have not yet released a motive or made any arrests.
