Sixers injury update: Embiid, Oubre out, Could Paul George return?

Posted

As the team prepares for a two-game stint at home, the Philadelphia 76ers have released an initial injury report for the game, designating the status of several key players.

The Sixers are coming off a disappointing loss against a short-handed Pistons squad in Detroit and are in sore need of a win as they look to climb back up the Eastern Conference standings.

Philadelphia has faced their own share of staffing issues and will continue to do so Monday night as they face off against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Sixers injury report

Starting off with the big fella himself, Joel Embiid will miss his third straight game due to right knee injury management. He is dealing with no structural damage to the knee, but as he continues to suffer soreness, the Sixers are taking an extremely cautious approach, as they should.

Also missing from Monday’s matchup will be wing Kelly Oubre, who went down towards the end of the first half against Detroit with a left knee sprain—specifically an LCL injury, for which he is seeing additional doctors, in order to confirm the severity.

Adem Bona is also set to miss the game due to a right ankle sprain. Not only will Bona be out on Monday, but he will also miss the following two games, according to the Sixers.

Finally, Paul George, who continues to recover from a left knee injury and surgery he underwent during the summer, has been upgraded to questionable. George has missed the first 12 games of the season as he recovers from offseason arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, but his debut may be finally here if all goes well.

The Sixers will face off against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at 7 p.m.
