Tyrese Maxey has been named to the 2025-26 All-NBA Third Team after yet another career-best season in his sixth year in the NBA.
Maxey, 25, was notably the top player on the Third Team, finishing with the 11th-most All-NBA votes among those who made the ballot. Appearing on 96 of the 100 total ballots, Maxey received 36 votes for the Second Team and 60 votes for the Third Team.
Continuing his annual tradition of improvement that has matched his philosophy of getting “one percent better every day,” Maxey averaged 28.3 points, 6.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 0.8 blocks over 70 games this season while leading the league in minutes per game (38.0), and shooting 46.2 percent from the field on 21.4 shot attempts per game, 36.7 percent from three on 8.6 attempts per game.
After being named an All-Star starter earlier this year, Maxey enjoys yet another career first by making this All-NBA team.
With no positional requirements in the voting structure, Maxey was effectively voted the 11th best player in the NBA this season, accounting for the NBA’s 65-game requirement to qualify for such awards.
Maxey’s season was simply stellar and would have been even more impressive if not for a nagging finger injury he suffered late in the regular season, which cost him games and affected his play throughout the rest of the regular season and playoffs. Without that injury, the Sixers’ playoff odds may not have been significantly different, but Maxey would likely have played closer to 80 games and, given that he finished just 29 points behind Jalen Brunson, could have earned an appearance on the All-NBA Second Team.
Regardless, Maxey’s season is worth celebrating, as he continued to grow into the face of Philadelphia’s franchise, not only as a stellar talent but also as the team’s vocal leader and franchise tone-setter.
The Sixers are once again facing uncertainty this offseason, but Tyrese Maxey has firmly secured himself as the franchise’s cornerstone and continues to be rewarded for reaching new career heights.
