Ahead of the official start of the season, the Sixers have filled their final two-way roster spot, converting Tacko Fall's Exhibit 10 deal into a two-way contract.

Fall, 30, signed with the Sixers in early September and, as head coach Nick Nurse stated during training camp, was a contender for the team's final two-way spot. He suffered a hip strain that limited his participation in training camp and held him out of the preseason entirely, but the Sixers appear to have enough confidence in his recovery to retain him for the regular season.

Philadelphia clearly needed reinforcements in the frontcourt after Ariel Hukporti suffered a season-ending Achilles injury minutes into the team's first preseason game. Fall has just 37 games of NBA experience but boasts rare size, even for his position, standing 7-foot-6. He also offers intriguing potential as a rim protector. The Senegal native averaged 6.2 minutes, 2.2 points and 2.1 rebounds across three seasons with the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers from 2019 to 2022.

It certainly helps that Fall has connected well with his teammates throughout camp and the preseason, but the Sixers will need him to produce throughout the season, especially given the expected management of Joel Embiid's regular-season workload.
